Denzel Washington is an American film actor, director, screenwriter, and producer. He is known for his role in the Clint Eastwood classic, Grease. He has also played leading roles in the movies, Scarface, Man on the Moon, The Rookie, The Blind Side, Seabiscuit, and others.

Denzel Washington Sr. is a multi-millionaire who has built an empire that is synonymous with his son’s career in film.

Denzel Washington was born in Texas in 1960 and grew up in Louisiana. Growing up as one of three children, his parents separated when he was a baby. His father went to work and Denzel was left with two sisters, Phoebe and Tami.

At a very young age, Denzel learned to act. During his high school years, he was a member of the drama club and his acting teacher, Billy Ray Valentine, encouraged Denzel to continue to study acting at college. Denzel Sr. later followed in his father’s footsteps, enrolling in the University of Maryland. He studied for a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting.

When Denzel Sr. graduated from college, he began a relationship with a Hollywood casting agent, Larry Dutcher. He was soon offered a role in the movie A Time to Kill. While working on the film, he learned how to speak French and Spanish and began to travel frequently to Spain, Mexico, and other Latin American countries. He also worked extensively in the Southwestern United States. In the late eighties, Denzel started to learn Spanish. The experience was so beneficial that he went on to create the character of Juan, which played a large part in the 1994 film, Stand and Deliver.

Denzel Washington Sr. was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys during his youth. He is a huge fan of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys and enjoys watching them on television, in person, and attending their games. He was married to his childhood sweetheart, Shana Washington for over 20 years before they divorced when Denzel was just twenty years old. Denzel was named a grandchild of President John F. Kennedy, by his third wife, Trudy Ervin.

Denzel has three children, Ava, Trayva, and Dominique. His youngest daughter, Dominique, is the lead singer for the band “Carpetbagger” and is an accomplished singer and actress.

In addition to acting, Denzel is a very successful writer. He has written several bestsellers, including The Pursuit of Happyness. He has written a song that went to number one on the New York Times bestseller list and was inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. The Pursuit of Happyness tells of the life of a Southern Baptist minister and his quest for God’s will in spite of his own selfishness.

Denzel recently released the book, “Ladies First,” which tells the story of the struggles and triumphs of women who have shaped his life. In the book, he shares stories of his own spiritual journey in which he reveals his personal story of struggle and perseverance in life.
