Leon du Preez was born in Pretoria on April 21st, 1968. From a young age he was drawn to the world of entertainment. After studying at Van der Bijl High School, he moved to Johannesburg where he began pursuing his dream of becoming an actor. His first major role was playing Nathan in Egoli: Place Of Gold in 1992. Since then he has appeared in numerous movies and television shows including Isidingo (2002-2003), Backstage (2005-2006), Jacob’s Cross (2007-2008), Rhythm City (2010-2011), Muvhango (2014-2015) and Binnelanders (2017).

Music Career

Personal Life

Leon du Preez lives in Johannesburg with his wife Andrea van Wyk who he married in 1993. Together they have two children; daughter Zara du Preez who is an actress best known for her roles in Isibaya(2013-2017), The River(2018-present)and Legacy(2020). His son Dylan Du Preez is currently studying film production at AFDA Cape Town Film school. When not working or spending time with family, Leon enjoys playing golf, reading books about history, philosophy, biographies about famous personalities etc.
