Who is Msaki?
Msaki (real name Zinzi Mputi) is an Afro-Soul artist from East London, South Africa. She is best known for her captivating live performances, powerful lyrics and unique sound which blends traditional African rhythms with electronic beats. Her lyrics focus on social issues such as political oppression, gender equality, LGBTQ rights, racism and more.
Msaki’s career took off in 2016 when she released her debut EP ‘Zaziyo’ to critical acclaim. She went on to perform at major festivals including Rocking The Daisies, Oppikoppi and Ashburner Jazz Festival as well as supporting international acts like John Legend on their South African tours. The album was well received by fans and critics alike and solidified Msaki’s place amongst the top artists coming out of South Africa today.
